Engineered Alumina Crucible Solutions with Premium Manufacturing Quality

While many suppliers offer basic alumina crucibles as simple one-shot liners, Zircoa combines cost-effective alumina material with our premium manufacturing processes and quality management systems. Our Composition 6105 alumina crucibles are hydraulically pressed for precise dimensions and feature uniform, smooth inner surfaces that deliver cleaner melts and extended service life up to 1700°C.

Alumina crucibles serve two primary functions. On their own, they serve as a melt container for use with induction furnaces in traditional grouted-coil installations. Additionally, our alumina crucibles are ideally suited as backup crucibles in two-crucible installations combined with zirconia crucibles. The sizes are matched between crucible types for safe installation with maximum energy efficiency.

Optimize Performance with Two-Crucible Systems

Zircoa’s matched sizing between alumina and zirconia crucibles enables safe two-crucible installations that maximize energy efficiency while providing backup protection. Our 1859 or 1860 Backup Material is ideal for placement between alumina and zirconia crucibles, providing superior insulation with five times the thermal efficiency of standard materials. Additionally, the grain size distribution is optimized for sturdy support on the crucible bottom, good compaction on the sides, and stability even after several thermal cycles.

Options include:

  • Backup 1859 — Grog, partially stabilized with magnesia and calcia
    -8 +100 Tyler mesh size
  • Backup 1860 — Grog, partially stabilized with magnesia and calcia
    -8 +28 Tyler mesh size
