High-performance dies for extruding non-ferrous alloys including copper, brass, and copper-nickel. Superior to traditional tool steel and stellite dies, our ceramic extrusion dies reduce machine shop rework while consistently outperforming metal alternatives.
Product Applications
Magnesia-stabilized zirconium oxide extrusion dies from Zircoa are engineered to provide the high-temperature stability, chemical inertness, hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance required to extrude non-ferrous alloys such as copper, copper-nickel, brass, and other copper alloy shapes. These ceramic extrusion dies represent one of our largest precision components, designed for horizontal casting and drawing applications where standard metal dies cannot deliver the required performance.
Our extrusion dies are more standardized than custom components, making them suitable for plug-and-play applications across various extrusion operations. The engineered porosity in our ceramic materials provides unique thermal shock resistance properties that distinguish our dies from other materials, giving operators the reliability needed for demanding extrusion processes.
